Unfailing Love

"His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
nor His delight in the legs of a man;

the Lord delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in His unfailing love."

-Psalm 147:10-11

The Lord delights in me. In you. In all of His people.
God doesn't love us because of our characteristics, our flaws, or our strengths.
He gave us all of those; He created us. So they are all, good and bad, precisely perfect in His eyes.
He loves us regardless, and He delights in us...
especially when we turn to Him. Love him, fear him, revere Him, honor Him.
How can I not put my hope in His unfailing, unconditional love?

Have you ever thought about what it means to have unfailing love?
It's a love that is never hurtful, boastful, selfish. Always pure, always perfect.
I think it is almost impossible to fully grasp the depth of God's love for us.
Even in Ephesians, Paul prayed specifically that these people would "have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ" (Ephesians 3:17-18).
The depth of the love of Christ is hardly fathomable to man- it "surpasses knowledge".
Yet He loves us, and not only that, He delights in us and enjoys us. Amazing.
That makes me sit in awe and wonder at my Redeemer.

"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17)
